IBIS 910 – ISO 27001:2005 INTERNAL ISMS AUDITOR

Overview description
An interactive TWO DAY course to provide auditors with the skills to plan, execute, report and effective follow-up corrective action for internal audits. Learn the Plan, Do, Check, Act philosophy. Also embrace ISO 19011 Guidelines to auditing. The course is designed to follow the stages in a live audit, including simulated audit interviews and role plays. The objective of an audit is not to fault find, but rather to identify opportunities for improvement and also identify legal and other requirement compliance.

Course objectives

• Producing an internal audit programme based upon risk
• Understand the general principles of system auditing
• Have the ability to follow a process flow, and explore the linkages to the Statement of Applicability (S.O.A)
• Be able to evaluate the effectiveness of a risk assessment
• Undertaking an effective management system audit against those criteria important to the business based upon the information assets and legal requirements
• Planning the audit, resources and timings and use of checklists
• Have the ability to prepare for, carry out, report on, and close-out, internal audits in accordance with the Process Approach
• Undertaking an effective Management System Audit against ISO 27001
• Improving communication skills in the presentation of audit reports
